Game Log: 3 October 2007- 29 April 2009

Turn60: 1-3 The inevitable happens with a massive suicidal attack. The planes converge and within sight of the home aerodrome Kevin rips into Bramley causing 4 damage and nearly, but not quite, knocking him out of the sky. Unfortunately for him, Bramley also gets a shot in to cause fatal damage and take him out of the game. As Kevin spirals down, Bramley kicks him twice more just to make certain as he plummets into the ground.
Bramley, the victor, licks his wounds after an amazingly close fight.
Winner: Bramley, 2nd Kevin, 3rd BrianM, 4th MarkR, 5th Ken
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Blue aerodrome before move 1.
Turn59: 1-3 The spectators roar in amazement as the expected doesn't happen - the shots go wide and both planes are still in the air. The disallowed 4th shot would have splintered struts, but the gun was too hot to fire! Ammo is low???
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Purple aerodrome before move 1.
Turn58: 1-3 Mutterings from Kevin: either incredibly strategic or suicide! The tension mounts as Bramley follows at a safe distance, but keeping his opponent within reach.

Turn57: 1-3 Oh dear - missed each other again - but ammo is rapidly running out.
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Black aerodrome before move 1.
Turn56: 1-3 As they head easterly Bramley fires a warning shot behind Kevin.

Turn55: 1-3 Both planes avoid the clouds and head away from each other, and save their ammunition.

Turn54: 1 Ramming Speed! Kevin aims directly for Bramley, but Bramley sideslips
2 Kevin moves quickly out of the way
3 ..and no-one gets damaged. They both live yto fight another day, but the clouds may decide the outcome???

Turn53: 1 Drawn towards each other the fight is on - Bramley turns Immelmann and they both let rip (3 damage each)
2 But it's not over yet - Kevin bears down and they hit each other at point blank range (4 damage each)
3 No movement as they size each other up, but Kevin has exhausted his shots to let Bramley get another one in.(4 damage on Kevin). What a massacre!!!! but the planes limp on...
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Blue aerodrome before move 1.
Turn52: 1-3 As Bramley takes off again, Kevin does an Immelmann over the aerodrome for perfect positioning with Bramley flying below him, but surprisingly doesn't fire??? Still the chase could be on again in this close fought finalé.
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Red aerodrome before move 1 again.
Turn51: 1 Bramley immediately takes off, after renewing his Ammo but no repairs. Kevin narrowly misses him, but...
2-3 As Bramley lifts his nose, Kevin gets him in his sights and blows him out of the sky (3 damage). Bramley's last plane will be ready on the tarmac for next turn.

Turn50: 1-3 Bramley lands and renews his ammunition, but Kevin holds back and doesn't fire (yet)

Turn47: 1-3 What happens now as Kevin takes off?

Turn46: 1 Oh-oooh head on battle: Both rattle their guns (3 damage each) to cause some severe damage, but both are still flying!
2-3 Although neither plane moves, Kevin only fires Left, but Bramley presses home his advantage and fires again taking Kevin out (3 damage) to lose his second life. Restarts his last life with 12 dmg allowance & 16 Ammo
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Black aerodrome before move 1again.
Turn45: 1-3 As the last opponents turn to face towards each other, Kevin can be heard to mutter 'time for a little one-on-one'. Kevin has a slight edge, being less damaged, but tactics may change the balance of power.

Turn44: 1-3 Kevin gets away with it yet again.
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Red aerodrome before move 1.
Turn43: 1-3 Kevin was in Bramleys sights twice, but Bramley held back and didn't fire. Shucks! Kevin nevertheless sprays bullets in all directions, but can't hit Bramley yet.
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Blue aerodrome before move 1.
Turn42: 1-3 So near and yet so far. As Kevin cuts across Bramleys path, he gets hit once (1 dmg), but all other shots miss
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Black aerodrome before move 1 again.
Turn41: 1-3 Bramley takes off to the East as Kevin turns on his head to shoot at Bramley as he lifts off the ground, but although he is on target he is just out of firing range!!!
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Black aerodrome before move 1.
Turn40: 1-3 Bramley lands his plane to re-arm but has to pass through the clouds to do it, causing some damage but affording some significant protection, while Kevin turns away to avoid the immediate confrontation
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Purple aerodrome before move 1.
Turn39: 1-2 With two antagonists on his tail BrianM desperately turns away, but Kevin manages to get him in his sights at long range causing 1 damage
3 BrianM desperately tries to hide in the few remaining clouds, but unfortunately takes 1 more damage as he enters causing his plane to disintegrate, and after a brave effort loses his final life.

Turn38: 1-3 BrianM tries all of the manoeuvres at his command, but the vultures are closing in again, as Kevin fires across his bows.
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Purple aerodrome before move 1.
Turn37: 1-3 BrianM turns away to avoid a suicidal landing, so where to now? Is it just a matter of time as Kevin approaches to join in?
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Green aerodrome before move 1. Almost clear skies now.
Turn36: 1 BrianM avoids Bramley yet again, as Kevin takes off
2 So near and yet so far - the bullets flying - but miss their target.
3 BrianM is in his sights but Bramley has used his quota of ammo this turn!!!!

Turn35: 1-2 BrianM avoids being blown away by Bramley!
3 As Kevin lands, BrianM escapes for the moment but Bramley is still on his tail and Ammo is running low!!!!

Turn34: 1 Bramley sideslips to catch BrianM from behind (3dmg)
2 But doesn't keep his advantage, while Kevin turns to face his aerodrome
3 But Bramley hasn't quite finished with BrianM just yet.......

Turn33: 1 A real; dog fight here - as two planes perform the Immelmann maneuver narrowly missing their enemies but...
2 the titans clash as Bramley lines up BrianM in his sights (4 dmg), but BrianM retaliates to skewer Bramley (4 dmg) and the stray also catch Kevin in the background (1 dmg)
3 The dog fight over but the tables are turned and BrianM finds himself being chased.

Turn32: 1 BrianM chases his opponents
2 BrianM fires at both: Kevin is just out of range, but Bramley is in front of him (2 dmg)
3 Everyone holds their breath in anticipation, as the skies gradually lose their clouds and Bramley narrowly misses Kevin
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Green aerodrome before move 1again
Turn31: 1-2 Kevin wisely leaves the middle of the fight while BrianM tests out his Immelman and Bramley closes in.
3 But is the chase now on???

Turn30: 1-2 The planes turn towards each other and Kevin fires a warning shot across the tail of BrianM.
3 BrianM turns to pass Kevin and they both exchange fire to cause some damage (3 each) making both Aces

Turn29: 1-3 As the clouds drift towards the horizon the three remaining planes return into the fray.

Turn28: 1 MarkR flies up to commit himself to the great hanger in the skies - resigns from the game. Bramley can't avoid BrianM taking 4 dmg and losing his first life.
2-3 Two planes continues in their empty piece of sky, while others kick themselves on the ground.

Turn27: 1 Bramley tests out his Immelman manoeuvre, while MarkR takes off again. (Apologies: I forgot to remove the Ammo used last turn - see Prev column)
2-3 BrianM fires in all directions except the one that counts!

Turn26: 1 Bramley slips sideways to keep MarkR in sight and cause major damage (4 dmg) to blow him out of the sky
2-3 The planes head off away from each other, but MarkR now has his last plane on the runway.

Turn25: 1 Bramley & Kevin fly over each other while MarkR attempts another Take Off
2 Bramley sights MarkR with another devastating blow (4dmg)
3 Bramley stays on Marks Tail for another set of 4 damage & promoting Bramley to an Ace

Turn24: 1 Kevin homes in on MarkR as he tries to take off and blows him out of the sky (4 dmg)
2-3 Bramley & Kevin stay close to MarkR's airport as he prepares his second plane for take off.

Turn23: 1-2 Kevin pursues MarkR as he comes in to land (twice x 2 dmg).
3 MarkR lands and renews his ammo, but Kevin lets up on the third shot allowing him to survive.

Comments from Bramley: I assumed from the rules that the aerodromes had balloons that you could shoot to remove a player from the game? Reply: These are an option that can be used, but not in this specific game.
Turn20: 1-3 BrianM takes off rapidly to avoid disaster, while Kevin wades his way through the clouds again. Meanwhile Bramley fires at an empty aerodrome.

3 Bramley drifts across to attack BrianM on the ground at long range (causing 1 dmg), while Kevin finds the clouds (1 dmg)

Turn18: 1 Kevin becomes surrounded by cloud and is forced to go through them (1 dmg) while Bramley takes off
2-3 A few wild shots as BrianM comes in to land

3 Bramley lands to renew his ammunition

2-3 Kevin & Mark give chase with a hopeful shot from Mark
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Green (yet again-purely random honest!) aerodrome before move 1 again
Turn15: 1 The clouds are clearly attracted to Brian (1 dmg) & also Bramley (1 dmg) while Kevin turns away from a fight
2 Brian sticks with the clouds (1 dmg): Kevin manages to avoid Mark
3 Is there no way out of the clouds for Brian (1 dmg). How much more can he take?

Turn14: 1-2 Ken nmr. While Kevin takes off the others just fly around a bit.
3 Brian hides in the clouds (1 damage) while Mark sends out a volley but misses everything

Turn13: 1 Ken nmr. Unfortunately Kevin is unlucky & the storm clouds rip his wings off - loses a life
2-3 Everyone except Kevin heads West but no damage.

Turn12: 1 Ken nmr. Interesting paths as MarkR lands safely for now to renew his Ammo immediately
2 Brian flies underneath Bramley while Kevin gets damaged by the cloud ( 1 dmg) and fires at for fun
3 Kevin stays in the cloud (1 more dmg) but nobody hits anybody else.
Wind: Clouds move one hex towards Yellow aerodrome before move 1 again
Turn11: 1 Ken nmr. Bramley continues through the Clouds (1 dmg). Kevin flies under Brian and manages to lodge a bullet in Marks tail.
2 Brian moves across to get Bramley head on (4dmg), but Bramley retaliates to get Brian (4dmg) & Kevin (3 dmg)
3 After that vicious skirmish everyone moves on - most with damaged planes!

Turn10: 1 Ken (nmr) stays on his airport - a sitting duck for now??? Brian presses home his advantage on MarkR (4 dmg)
2-3 They all swing around preparing for another sortie

Turn9: 1 Ken repairs by remaining on the ground, and Kevin heads for his airport.
2 A missed opportunity here!
3 Brian sticks to MarkR's tail as Kevin lands to renew his ammo.

Turn8: 1 Ken heads for a landing underneath the tail of Bramley
2 Kevin tries for a desperate shot but misses
