Turn50: Nmr from Shane, so he falls asleep. Bruno runs back to Ken to administer some healing potion. Yani thanks Bruno for the healing draught, and sticks close to Walter who answers the yokels: I won't touch the cupboard, but what is so important that is in there then. might it be some golden butter of cheese? and can you tell me who lives in here beside you? The head servant replies 'nothing of interest really, just the usual pots and pans, knives, torches. We have to serve our noble lord who is eating in the main hall. Your friend seems to be bored - he has fallen asleep at the doorway. Oi! what is that purple looking fellow doing at that door? My pet is asleep in there, and he won't want to be disturbed.' One or two of the other servants look alarmed, and one gets up to stand next to his boss.
Turn49: Walter enters the room ands says 'ibmmp'. The Yokel nearest seems to relax and says (in translation) 'well hello, yer be not from around here are yer. Mind, yer attempt at pronouncing our tongue is quite good. What can we do for yer? Tell the apple of yer eye not to look in those cupboards though.'
Bruno throws some potion down Yani's throat to make him feel better. Ken tries to dry his feet, and is left on his own since he is weighted down with gold.
Turn48: As the clock strikes 7, Walter & Bruno call out "Hello, show yourself. How are you, where is your master. Can we help you". As Walter peeps around the partially open door he spies a long room with tables, cupboards and a few chairs in which are seating six local yokels eating and chatting. As they see Walter they all stop and look at him. They are puzzled a little by his language, but can understand what is being said. They decide to ignore him for now, and carry on chatting and eating.
Meanwhile as Ken jumps into the water for a paddle he shrieks out in shock - Oh dear this water is cold! Between him and Shane they find a number of Gold coins which they share (100 each), but the extra weight slows them down. There are no more coins lying around in the pool, so Ken gets out dripping wet, and boots full of water. As Yani walks passed the grassed area checking for Traps, he notices that both areas give him the shivers (5 exp x 2)
Turn47: Walter moves slowly away followed by Bramley and Bruno, while the others stare into the water. Bramley passes the arrows to Ken. Shane pokes the water carefully - splosh, splosh, chink and a few ripples on the surface of the water.
Meanwhile Walter, Bramley and Bruno can clearly hear some servants talking through the open door ahead.
Turn46: Everyone regroups with Walter leading the way, as all of the dead bodies lying around disintegrate.
Shame about the dead bodies - sometimes they can have treasure or weapons on them, or possibly their lair/home might have something worth looking for.
(Walter can have 5XP for getting everyone back together again.)
Turn45: Ken has a rest to recover 1 HP, while Bruno runs around to force some potion down Walter's throat which totally restores him (+3HP). Walter calls everyone together in between spluttering on the potion, but Yani is still some distance away, and Bramley goes to greet him. A few dead ducks and fish are still lying on the ground, but some have already disintegrated. Shane rushes around ensuring that nothing threatening comes near. All is quiet for the moment.
Turn44: Ken has a rest to recover 1 HP, while Bruno runs around to force some potion down Walter's throat which totally restores him (+3HP).
Turn43: Bramley runs to Shane and both Bramley & Bruno pour healing potion down his throat - this restores all 3 HPs. As Walter runs about in panic Ken keeps cool and slashes at the fish stuck in Walter's ear as he passes. Walter hears a strange shriek as the fish is gutted.(5XP to Ken). Meanwhile Yani quietly leaves the Slops and closes the door behind him.
Turn42: Bramley leaves Yani on his own to rest a bit, while he runs to join the others (part way). Walter wraps the fish in his cloak but not before the fish has another bite causing 2 dmg. Shane is offered some of Bruno's potion , but he doesn't hear since he is out cold. Meanwhile Bruno slashes at the fish just about to leap out of the water, but misses. The fish3 hits Bruno's armour and kills itself (5XP). Ken dispatches fish2 (5XP) before it can do any damage to him.
Meanwhile something is creeping up on Yani.
Turn41: Ken tries to choke the duck latched onto his neck, while Walter uses his sling against the first fish to fly out of the pond. Fish2&3 leap out at Ken, and the last duck flies at Bruno accompanied by Fish4&5, leaving the last Fish6 to fly past Bruno's defence to reach Shane. Ken strangles the duck (5XP), and Bruno kills the flying duck and Fish4 in one massive swipe (10XP). Shane by pure luck manages to squash Fish6 (5XP) as he crawls over it! However Walter misses, and Fish1 grabs hold causing 1dmg. Fish2 latches onto Ken causing 2dmg, but Fish3 bounces back into the pond. Fish5 hits Bruno's armour so hard that it kills itself.  (5XP to Bruno)
Yani
is feeling very ill as the poison starts to take effect. Bramley administers a potion which makes Yani feel better for a moment, but then the poison starts to kick in again. Bramley holds Yani down and cuts off his right hand, tears off some of his clothing and bandages the wrist up. Yani collapses unconscious, and is very pale, but is still breathing, and after a few minutes comes round and although weak seems to feel a little better (loses 1 HP for onset of poison, recovers 1 from the potion, and then loses 1 HP from poison before recovery).
Turn40: Walter & Shane back away from the water, while Ken & Bruno muscle in to take the flack- the first two ducks fly at them, and one fish leaps out of the water to attack with teeth bared. On the first pass of ducks they fly too fast to hit Ken or Bruno. Similarly Ken misses, but Bruno cleaves the duck in two (5XP). On the second pass the duck latches on to Ken's throat (causing 2 dmg), while the fish (taking the second ducks place) bounces harmlessly off Bruno's armour back into the pond. The other fish and last duck prepare for an all out attack.
Meanwhile Yani & Bramley finish searching the slops. The good news is that they find and split 200 Copper coins and 200 Gold coins between them (the weight will slow Yani down significantly). Also Bramley suspects that the 10 arrows they find are magical. The bad news is that Yani is now in pain and may be suffering from a poisoned wound - delay could be fatal.
Turn39: Quack, quack; burble, burble (that's the fish). The group around the pond protect themselves - 'Tut, these impetuous people!' As Walter panics Sir Francis pecks at him, but misses. The other 2 drakes attack Shane, the first must be short sighted since he misses, but the second latches both claws into Shane's leg causing 2+1 damage. Walter lashes out at Sir Francis with his dagger to no avail, The severely injured Shane swings his sword at the Drakes, but is so off balance he has no chance. Ken & Bruno unable to reach Walter tackle the Drakes attacking Shane - Ken dispatches one, and Bruno the other with no problem. Sir Francis Drake has another go at Walter and just misses, Walter retaliates and luckily strikes a killing blow. The rest of the ducks start screeching, and the fish hissing (can fish hiss?) and rush across the pond towards the party.
Meanwhile, oblivious to the battle of the pond, Yani tells Bramley that he has found some coins. He finds more coins and some arrows - Yani gets some tingling in his hand, and as he picks up the arrows Bramley gets a tingling all over.
Turn38: Yani: Okay, I'm going to investigate the metal clinking noise. Probably means I'll be stinky afterwards. What a thief will do, for the chance there may be a payday involved :) He feels around in the slime - very brave - and grasps a handful of coins - some Gold some Copper, but nicks himself on what probably is an arrow head.
Meanwhile, as Walter grabs for the coins in the pond, the duck nearest to him starts quacking like mad and goes to attack him. The fish & ducks in the pond stare menacingly at him. Shane, always the impetuous one, immediately lets fly with an arrow, but misses. For a moment there is a deafening silence. Then all hell lets loose as the ducks fly at Shane. However the male duck - Sir Francis - gets chance to have a peck at Walter, but misses. Everyone else is ready for the fight.
Turn37: As Walter checks out the pond, the Ducks & fish start swimming towards him, in a friendly way. He also sees a few glints of coins scattered around on the bottom. Shane, Ken & Bruno catch up with him to admire the ducks - quack, quack. As Yani searches - the smell is overwhelming, but with nerves of steal he continues,  - and hears some metal clinking well under the rubbish.
Turn36: As Walter moves quickly ahead of his Party, Shane, Ken & Bruno try to keep up with him. Bramley joins Yani and opens the door to the Slops. The smell of rotting cabbage, and all manner of refuse greats his nose. As the door opens he can see piles of garbage and compost thrown against the back walls. The smell is awful!  As Walter passes the pond in the middle of the courtyard, he sees 6 ducks paddling serenely, and also a few fish swimming around.
Turn35: Everyone hangs around a bit to let Walter & Ken recover - also Bruno helps Ken with some of his everlasting potion. Everyone is now renewed.
Turn34.5: As Walter learns his new spell, Ken & Bruno move to protect him. Yani wanders towards the East door muttering 'precious, precious'. Bramley takes a sip from each of his coloured potions - he feels euphoric, then ill, then floats an inch off the ground. Meanwhile Shane has a good search around the Larder - he finds lots of mouldy food and a few tins - one is clearly labeled 'Green Peas- do not open - you have been warned!!!'
Turn34: Wish List: Walter granted - you may learn any one of the MU or Cleric Spells listed; Shane granted but just 1 HP per person; Ken granted +2  to hit; Yani as no wish was made: I give you a gift of the Ring of Invisibility; Bramley granted - a magic scroll is in the chest in the Nobles' 2nd Bedroom in the far North East; Bruno granted - you have an everlasting potion of healing.
As the wishes are complete Eva disappears in a puff of smoke!
Turn33: Walter confident that his comrades can deal with the monster talks to Eva. Shane, Ken, Bramley & Bruno attack the monster. Yani gets ready to join in. Not only do the team decimate the centipede before it can attack again, but they also kill the next 2 as they crawl out of the corner. (16 XP total)
'Oh thank you, thank you' cries Eva, 'I'll have to go soon to tend to my master, who is a very noble person, but he can get angry, and he is normally surrounded by some of his personal guards, so be careful if you come across him. Before I go though, as a sign of my thanks, I can grant each of you one wish that is within my power to give.'
Turn32: As Bruno stirs up the dust & mould causing them to choke, there is a sudden terrifying screech as a Giant Centipede bursts out upon them. With Ken & Shane both having arrows nocked they let fly immediately. Unfortunately due to the shock they both completely miss. The centipede lunges at Ken but only scrapes its slobbering maw on his armour, leaving a filthy stench behind. Bruno stops what he is doing to take in the scene of mayhem.
Meanwhile Walter, Yani & Bramley are distracted from their watchfulness over Eva, and shout what is going on. Eva: Well I did warn you, and there is more than one. My master doesn't think they are worth the bother, but perhaps you could get rid of them - I would be very grateful!?!
Turn31: Bramley: I think that she was probably threatening to take a cleaver to her master. look out all you bug squishing heroes cos she may have you trapped between her and some big bug!  I'll cover your backs and be ready with my highly offensive read (languages) magic spell!
Walter: Who is the master? Eva: Oh he's just some guy who thinks he owns the place!
Bruno: Can someone light a torch please?, but there is no need since as he opens the door it is not dark inside. He sees shelves with tins on and some with mouldy food scattered about. The floor is dusty, probably with mould, and many animal? tracks in it, going through holes in the floor and wall.
Turn30: Bruno willing offers to go and get the peas, while Yani & Ken also volunteer with Shane close behind. Walter asks 'What critter might that be?' Eva ignores Walter & Bramley, and directs Bruno, and hangers on to the door at the West end of the kitchen, "That's the larder in front of you - the door is unlocked, but please excuse the mess - I haven't had chance to clean up in there for a long time.". In the distance the clock strikes 5 - "Please hurry I have to make the Masters tea, and prepare for his supper".
Turn29: As Bramley grabs the 6 potions, and checks that the cutlery is only cheap steel, Bruno chats to the 'lady'. "Who are you, and what are you doing here, and ....?  "My name is Eva, and I am the cook, and I might - cos I like you. Would you do something for me?" Bruno smiles inanely - "I'll do anything for you, my Lady". Shane, Ken & Yani, although not close to Eva, start to feel a strange attraction towards her. Meanwhile Walter & Bramley are too busy to notice. Eva asks Bruno, "Could you get me the tin of Mushy Peas that is in the Larder - I'd go myself but sometimes there are creepy crawlies in there, and I don't like them".
Turn28: The lady obviously takes a fancy to Bruno and his shining armour. As he sips his tea he feels renewed vigour (+1 HP), and a strange attraction to this 'lady'. Bramley moving to the tables notices one place setting of knife, fork & spoon, plus a cup & saucer, and 6 small bottles with coloured liquid in them - yellow, green & red - 2 of each. As Walter enters and smiles charmingly, the 'lady' returns a coy little smile, and moves steadily towards Bruno.
Turn27: As if by magic - since you are now familiar with Servant's language, you can all understand that one. Of course you may come across other languages in your travels.
Yani & Bramley enter the room and speak nicely to the Lady with the cleaver. Bruno runs to catch up with them, and Walter & Ken are on their way, with Ken a bit slower. Shane admires his path through the grass.
Lady: Ooh you made me jump. Who are you then? What do you want in my kitchen, (to herself:  I like the look of the black one in his nice shiny armour), and would you like a cup of tea then?
Turn26: Quite a bit of discussion here between Bramley & Yani : fancy leaving me here to do the dishes on my own. I will take this cleaer to the maser next I see him. - i assume that there are a couple of typos there! could be cleaner and master, i think. still its all forgeign to me.......guess there is something/one in there - fancy going in then? im an mu - whose going to be afraid of my daunting physical impression!?! I'm going to check for traps, on and around the doors, before moving inside. So get finding traps and then i'll let you lead the way! WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF YOU...ARE YOU JOINING US IN THE KITCHEN OR WHAT? shouts Yani, the meek and quiet theif. Ken shouts back: I favour the friendly approach.  Especially, if his hands are in the dishwater. Okay then, sheathed it is.
Shane rushes across the grass - splosh, splosh, splosh 'Ribbit, Ribbit' rustle rustle, but he encounters nothing (yet!)
As Yani peers around the door, he doesn't detect any traps, but sees a large table to his left and some cupboards to his right. But what really draws his attention is an extremely large woman glaring down at him from near the cupboards brandishing a cleaver: xibu ep zpv xbou?
Turn25: Torches I reckon should last about 3 turns, so they must have burnt out by now. Ken stays close to Walter offering to carry some of his Gold for him! Bruno also follows closely behind. Bramley joins Yani at the double doors while Shane is uncertain which way to go. As Yani & Bramley stand at the door they can hear some crashing of pans and an annoyed voice 'gbodz mfbwjoh nf ifsf up ep uif ejtift po nz pxo. j xjmm ublf uijt dmfbfs up uif nbtfs ofyu j tff ijn.'
Turn24: Bong, Bong, Bong, Click strikes the clock, but nothing is disturbed. After a bit of a discussion resulting from the cryptic Dobbin the group agree to head East supposedly towards the Kitchen. The 2 thieves stick together, but the rest follow the leader. As Walter, Bramley, Ken & Bruno go past the Stable, Dobbin goes: Neigh, neigh you are going away from the Kitchen. And Walter in his weakened state is feeling the extra weight of the gold! Dobbin neighs loudly as the party moves away: For any worthy adventurers there are now vacancies on DD0505
Turn23: While Bramley & Bruno continue to attack the last bat, everyone else tries to help Ken, who is enjoying the attention, and Yani continues chatting to the horse. Bramley misses with his sling shot, but Bruno manages to finish the bat off.(10XP each). Shane & Walter drag Ken inside the Tack Room, and Walter administers the Yellow Potion, which restores 6 Hit Points to Ken making him feel much better. Yani tells Dobbin not to worry about the bats, as they have them under control. Where are the kitchen, loft located? Dobbin replies: I have heard the stable boy talking to his beloved, and although I can't pronounce it the Hay Loft is a room to the 'mnqsg hm sgd bnqmdq' and everyone knows that the Kitchen is 'sgd ahf qnnl sn sgd dzrs'
Turn22: As Ken cries for help "Some....body....pleee...z....hel.....p....mmmm.....eeeeee!", he desperately tries to pull the bat off. With careful positioning behind the door Shane & Walter can fire at each bat. Bramley rushes out waving his torch to distract the bats, and Bruno does the same, but with axe in his other hand. Meanwhile Ken is clutching the one bat preventing it biting him. Walter slings at the northerly bat causing a critical hit and 6 damage - injured badly but still alive! At the same time Shane fires his Shortbow at Ken's bat causing 6 damage - again badly injured but not dead yet. Fortunately Bruno's axe buries itself in the body of Ken's bat, almost splitting it in two and finishing it off. (10XP each to Shane & Bruno). Meanwhile Bramley is struggling with the last bat, but manages to trip over his own feet and avoids a nasty bite. However, one very weak but rabid bat is intent on latching on to Bramley still!!!
While all of this is going on Yani has a quite chat with the horse in the stable -"excuse me but do you know where a healing potion may be?" Dobbin snorts back "Wellllll, your leader has got one in his backpack, but the Kitchen is always a good place to find things like that".
Turn21: "Yikes the horse talks!" - but no-one takes much notice as most of them are busy with bats!
Bruno continues to wave the burning torch, which doesn't cause any damage but confuses them and prevents too many attacking at once (1XP). The one in the doorway gets attacked by Walter (Sling misses 1XP), Shane (Bow 5 dmg & kills it=17XP) & Bramley (Sling misses 1XP). Meanwhile KenW attacks the next bat in line with an almighty swipe (4 dmg), and Yani turns his back on the dead chicken to have a go at a bat instead, totally decapitating that as well (20XP). Unfortuantely for KenW the bat latches on to him causing a massive 4 damage - KenW is in desperate trouble now, particularly with the other bat blocking the doorway. As KenW sinks to his knees his life flashes before him - has he got one last ounce of strength left, and can anyone help him?????????
Turn20: Walter: lets take a tactical position & attack the bats. Ken shields the doorway, while Yani is attracted to the chicken. The rest cluster inside to take pot shots at the bats.
Yani decapitates the chicken with one blow (5XP) Shane & Walter fire their slings at the nearest bats - Shane misses but Walter gets a hit (4 dmg) and upsets it a bit. The flames from Bruno's torch prevent more than one getting near the door. Shane draws his Shortbow and deals some more damage (5) to the bat in the doorway. Ken attacks the nearest bat to him, and with his wonderful swordplay causes 5 damage. Attracted by Bruno's torch the bat at the door attacks him, managing to bite through a weak point in his armour and causing 2 damage. In the bat vs Ken fight no damage to Ken. The bat nearest the dead chicken sees his opportunity to surprise Yani, but totally messes it up and overshoots its target. The final bat decides to wait his opportunity. The fight continues............
Turn19: Bruno collects an axe and the torches - starting to feel a bit weighed down, while Shane attempts the lock, but fails to open it, although he confirms that it is definitely 'trapped'. Bramley keeps guard on them. Yani runs outside to give Walter the gold, and ready to defend against the bats, as does Ken. Walter uses his Sleep spell on the bats.(no damage but 17 hit pts asleep=2bats). DM - you don't really want to tangle with these in your weakened state!!!! However Yani stabs one sleeping bat and Ken slashes the other killing them both outright.(10XP to Ken & Yani & 20XP to Walter)
Turn18: Je deteste les poulets!! Morte a tous! As KenW & Walter continue their vendetta against the chickens, the rest of the party do a thorough search of the Tool Shed. Yani investigates the icky spider and discovers some Gold. They don't discover any more spiders, but they do find 2 axes, 2 lengths of rope, 2 poles, 1 leather armour, some spikes, and some torches, all covered in cobwebs. Shane looking for traps finds a locked box (3XP) ???????????
KenW getting more proficient with his shortbow manages to kill the nearest chicken with one deadly shot. (5XP).
A clock strikes 3 (bong, bong, bong) somewhere in the distance. At the sound they is a series of high pitched clicks and shrieks from the far side of the courtyard. As Walter looks up he sees a group of bats swooping down from the belfry.
Turn17: Everyone attacking everything. Bruno: Montjoie Saint Denis que je trépasse si je faiblis !! (somewhere near Paris - dead I will be if I'm weak!!)
Chicken: Both Walter and KenW hit the chicken decimating it ready for the pot (3XP each), but before it expires it returns a nasty kick to KenW (2 dmg)
Spider:
4 against 1 - is that fair (rattle rattle)? Amazingly in the near darkness of 2 torches they all hit it, and the spider is so much in shock it can't bite anyone. Damage to spider Shane(5) Yani(2) Bramley(3) Bruno(3) killing it outright (9XP each) (gurgle! gurgle! spit! spit!)
Turn16: Just a quick chat: Yani: Well i'm going to stand my ground, sword and torch at the ready, and defend myself if need be. Hope the mm (Magic Missile) is enough to kill or at least disable the spider. I want everyone to know that I HATE SPIDERS!!! Shane: If I see a little glass vile with the light of a star inside I will hold it up in the air and try to look short! (Been seeing too many films?) Maybe we should lock ourselves in a room after this one and nap. . we have been at this for at least a few hours? KenW: Take a nap?  We have work that needs to be done.
Now onto the action: With the manipulation and waving of hands in the air Bramley fires his Magic Missile at the spider and zaps it right between the eyes (5 dmg). This doesn't kill it but temporarily blinds it giving everyone else a chance to have a go. Shane fires his bow causing 2 more dmg. Bruno slashes down with his sword, but it just bounces off the carapace; Yani also tries but misses in the excitement. The Spider now angered swipes at Bruno with its mandibles, but is not near enough as Bruno sidesteps.
Walter & KenW hear the commotion but are not near enough to help immediately.
Turn15: Most seem committed to exploring the tool room, while Ken looks after Walter. As the torch light from Bramley & Yani seeps into the cobweb filled room they stop in shock as they see a massive Spider crouched in the far corner. Its eyes are gleaming dangerously red, and it is not happy at the intrusion. They have no time to see anything else as everyone is focused on the Spider.
Turn14: As Bruno goes to ask Bramley for some torches, Yani feels some torches stacked on the tool rack. Because it is very dark in the toolroom no-one can see anything just a horrible rattling sound. No attacks from or on the chickens this round, but everyone looks at Walter since he is violently sick after sipping the potion.
Turn13: "Arrggggg Someone Killed the Chicken with the Golden EGG!!!!... Ill try to keep this one warm… and hatch it. Hearing Walter's scream,  I will back off from the chicken attack and ask someone to find some cages to capture the chickens.
If someone has a light I will ready my sword to defend/attack whatever is in the room (that is threatening.  I would not attack a rake, pail or fair maiden for example).
I've got no light but I'll take the plunge and step inside. Maybe I can find a lantern or torch."
Walter stashes the egg in his armpit (best place to keep it warm), while he sips the potion - quite invigorating.
As Yani & Bruno enter the toolroom, with Shane at the rear, they all hear loud scuffling in the back SE corner, and they walk into sticky cobwebs all over their faces. Yani feels a tool rack along the NW wall.
Meanwhile KenW tries to duck a viscious peck at his face from the angry chicken, but doesn't and nearly loses an eye (2 dmg). But Bramley gets lucky with his sling shot and gives the chicken 3 dmg and it expires with a mad flapping of wings.(5XP)
Turn12: Yani, Shane & Bruno all hide behind the door, everyone waiting for someone else to open it - good game! Then belatedly Bruno pushes it open gently. It's dark inside but it looks like a Tool Shed.
Walter examines the dead chicken and finds a golden egg!!!
Meanwhile KenW & Bramley have a go at another chicken - the chicken gets a viscous peck in to KenW right through his armour causing 1 dmg - put off by this KenW totally misses with his sword - Bramley gets a shot in on the chicken but only wounds it with 1 dmg. This fight continues next turn.
Turn11: As Walter collects the potions - one yellow & 1 green, Shane, Yani and Bruno check the Tack Room for interesting items and traps. Both Yani & Shane hear a scuttling sound behind the closed door (2XP each). Meanwhile KenW rushes over to attack another chicken, and although Bramley was heading back to the Tack Room he is sidetracked into helping KenW from a distance. Bramley misses but KenW gets a critical hit (10XP)on the chicken to despatch it to the Coop in the sky. The chicken next to the despatched one has a peck at him but misses.
Turn10: I've extended the Deadline a bit to get the holiday over, but don't let that stop you.
Shane, KenW and Bramley surround the nearest chicken - out for blood now. The chicken didn't stand a chance - not even one cluck! (only 2XP each though)
Walter hangs back a bit and says " Hey guys the scroll says we need to meet someone at the hayloft at midnight lets find it and see who shows up"
Meanwhile Yani moves outside the stable, leaving the potions, and checks for traps, but finds nothing except the 'Keep Off the Grass' sign.
Bruno ignores the fight and opens the door to the next building, which is clearly a Tack Room containing a few blankets, brushes, saddles, buckets and other horsey implements.
Turn 9: The fight continues, and as Shane runs away the frog lashes out, but misses him. However Bramley, KenW & Bruno leap in to decimate the Frog before it can do any more damage. (3XP each)
Yani: Someone may wish to examine the bottles also. One could be a valuable healing potion! Sounds like you guys are going to need one.
Meanwhile the previously dead chicken and frog have disintegrated, but the other chickens are slowly getting closer.

Walter asks Yani to let him examine the scroll. Yani passes it to him
Bramley
- well I must say that all those potions and scrolls definitely need surveying by an MU - don't you agree Walter! just pass them my way and ill give you my opinion on them! ;-)
Walter
- Magic User of repute correctly reads the Scroll - written in Servant's Dialect as 'meet me in the hayloft at midnight' (gains 20XP). The scroll is clearly written in a feminine hand, and smells slightly of Carbolic soap.
Turn 8: The time is twenty past one in the afternoon, and everyone prepares to join in the fray. Shane and Bramley let fly at a Frog, causing 5 & 3 damage respectively, injuring it severely, but it lashes out with its tongue at Shane causing 1 damage. As Walter rushes away from the Frogs Yelling 'Yikes the nasties..' .the Southerly one lashes out at him to severely cause 2 damage. However KenW & Bruno step into the fray and shred the frog between them (5XP each).
While this battle is continuing Yani searches around the stable, and finds many implements he would expect in stable plus a number of neatly arranged bottles, containing various coloured liquids. Also he finds a rolled up scroll wedged into a hole.(5XP for finding)
The fight continues, but Walter & Shane are injured and desperately need to rest from the fight.
Turn 7: As the party splits into two groups, Bramley, Yani & Bruno enter the stable and realise that the horse is friendly - neigh neigh: I hear you say! but yes he is very pleased to see them, especially if they have a carrot or two. Meanwhile as Shane follows Walter across the grass he detects that there is something odd about this area. Not having to think too much about it, as he and KenW tread on the grass they all hear the slightly familiar sound 'ribbit - ribbit' and 2 more Frogs appear near to the dead body of their brother. As Walter reaches the dead frog and pokes it (with something he didn't specify - probably his foot) the two adjacent frogs start hissing menacingly.
Turn 6: Everyone is stunned by the appearance of a frog!
Now the frog was confused at first, but with an arrow neatly fired over Walter's and KenW's shoulders by Shane, he now decides to attack. However prompted by Shane's arrow, KenW lets fly with his own bow, and Walter slings a stone at the Frog. Shane does critical damage to the frog, and Walter also hits it hard - unfortunately KenW misses, but the shear venom of the attack wipes out the frog (5XP for Shane, 4XP for Walter, 1XP for KenW)
Meanwhile Bramley peeks through the slightly open door and sees a placid, ageing horse tied up in the Stable.
Turn 5: The party seems to be splitting up. As Walter leads across the grass, Yani & Bramley follow at a more careful pace, Bruno & Shane admire the architecture, and KenW goes to get his chicken. Then Yani sees a sign saying: 'Keep off the Grass!' and shouts a warning to Walter, just as he turns around to hear 'Ribbit, Ribbit' coming from the centre of the grassy area - obviously a bit confused about someone walking on his grass.
Turn 4: Gold divided equally - and Shane keeps the extra 4 for his trouble.
N Chicken moves closer as both Bramley and KenW fire at it. Both score direct hits on it - they shred it between them (3XP for each). Yani seems to be dealing with the S chicken on his own. He throws it 30 feet away, but not before the chicken tries to scratch him with one of its claws, narrowly missing him. The chicken hits the ground with a thump and expires (5XP for Yani). However the shrieks of the terminated chickens start to attract the others.

The gold will be divided ... but these chickens seem resilient. Maybe they are cursed or something I will have to look into the magical almanac of all thing strange and phenomena from other sources, a nice magical work that I still need to get my hands on....Walter
So Yani are you choking the chicken in public or what! Bramley
I want to apologize for choking my chicken in public (turns a deep shade of red) how embarrassing :). Since i'm no fighter (big strong handsome pornstar type) I'll just toss my chicken as far as I can. Hope it don't explode! Guess they're just dumb chickens after all. Hey thanks for the gold. Yani
Turn 3: Shane dives on the Gold and finds there are 100 Gold pieces, but he must decide whether to keep it, hiding it from everyone, get Walter to decide, or just share it out???
Meanwhile the 2 fighters position themselves between the chickens and their leader. Bramley, a bit out on a limb, takes a shot at the chicken to the N with his sling, however this stops the chicken in its tracks - uncertain whether to fight or flee, but the sling shot totally misses. Yani tries to tempt the S Chicken to do something or other - this chicken is definitely upset and decides to have a peck at Yani, but in it's panic completely misses Yani, and Yani grabs it around the neck(1 damage). The chicken really panics now but won't die, and Yani hangs on tightly to it. KenW can't get a shot at the chickens because people are in the way
Discussion Shane - You get the gold while someone shoots a chicken for dinner. Walter. I will pick up the gold, trusting my friends to handle any crazed chickens. Shane Ok, I will shoot a chicken; but someone else will need to prepare it for dinner - I do not know how to cook ;^) Ken I try to coax chicken to come to me, "Here chick chick chick" I'll grab it if it comes close enough Yani
Turn 2: As the party move forward towards the Gold, Bramley and Bruno notice that two of the chickens have moved a bit closer - obviously looking for food. Shane pokes the Gold with his pole and is rewarded with a gentle chinking sound as he disturbs the coins - perhaps it is just a pile of Gold after all. No traps found.
Discussion How about the Thieves scout ahead, while of the mages gets the gold so the fighter can also slowly advance. Lets keep a low profile till we know what we get ourselves into? Walter
Can one of the thieves be really cautious for us and go check the gold for traps while the rest of us use him as bait to draw out any ambushers! Bramley
Ohh!!! ME ME!  Seriously I will do it. . I will poke at it with my pole. Shane
Beware my friends !! all the things we are seeing can be an illusion ....Bruno
Turn 1: The group move together towards the partially open double doors, checking carefully for traps and weapons at the ready. No traps are found, and there are no immediate surprises. As Walter peers through the doors he sees a large courtyard surrounded by walls with areas of grass and a pond in the middle.
A small pile of Gold coins lies a few feet past the doorways. You can see a few chickens pecking around in the courtyard - none are very close.
DM: All individuals equipped. Walter is the leader, so if any decisions have to be made, then you might have to agree to his superior leadership qualities. Since you all have some money left you may want to share it so other 'equipment' can be bought before the Traveling Salesman departs.
For those with Missile weapons - bows, slings - your missiles will be used up eventually so you have to state when you are getting some more.
Since you may need to contact each other from time to time, you can either do it within the orders, which will give in inevitable delay, or email them direct (Try clicking on the individuals name to send a message)
Just some words of warning: there are Traps in your path, and although Walter is the leader he has very little protection. Some monsters are dangerous and only the Fighters will stand a chance against them.
You only have one life - once you are dead, you are dead! Let's have some fun!!!!!!!!!!
Turn 0: 6 joined October 2004
You are at the entrance to the Grange. Although you have a plan of the Grange you are not aware of what is inside each area, until you enter. You can see the double doors in front of you and a door to either side. The double doors are partly open, but the side doors are shut.
A Travelling Salesman meets you there - what can I sell you good sirs......... I will always be at these gates if ever you want to purchase anything else..... see his wares.
